THE BRIEF

Redrick PR was tasked to: 

1) Raise Awareness and Buzz for the film, making it a must-see movie in Nigeria, Africa and amongst diaspora audiences globally (targeting: ZA, UK, US, CA, AU);

2) Educate press, industry, influencers, and consumers about Prime Video, their content offering, the service, and long-term investment; 

3) Build Reputation as a credible streaming service in the content and TV streaming environment among press, industry, talent, and consumers.

Internationally, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter echoed these sentiments, reinforcing the film’s quality and Prime Video’s ambitious plans in Africa. Despite overall positive reception. The Target Influencer List (TIL) goals were also exceeded, achieving 56% in Nigeria, 79% in the UK, and 71% in the US against a 50% target. In conclusion, the “Gangs of Lagos’ ‘ campaign successfully positioned Prime Video as a major player in the African content landscape, achieving strong media coverage and influencer engagement both locally and internationally.

THE SOLUTION

For Prime Video's groundbreaking first African Original, "Gangs of Lagos," Redrick PR employed a three-phased strategy aimed at raising awareness, educating key stakeholders about Prime Video, and building a credible reputation as a streaming service.
